You will have seen the new fence at the front which will keep our youngest safe and sound, and by the end of today you will notice brand new lights to replace the old globes on the front playground. What you probably won&#39;t notice is the fantastic new storage cupboard in the EYFS area. This is being built by Craig Wilson who is doing it all for free! We want to say a massive thank you to Craig because it will make a huge difference to the area. Lovely weather, fantastic children and great hosts. It was so good to be in the woods exploring and being creative. Once again the children made me very proud with their behaviour and their attitude. They were great company! If you ever want a mini break with a difference, I&#39;d definately recommend Low Gillertthwaite. They&#39;ll be learning all about the nature in the woods AND helping to make their own tea. The staff there were wonderful and the activities were perfect for their WW2 topic. We soon found out that castles were not heated very effectively in the old days! It was a brilliant trip though, and the children learned a huge amount during the day.&nbsp;</p> <p>Behaviour was, as always, superb and a number of adults in both venues commented on it.</p> <p>Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who were there to help. An especailly big thanks to Miss Craig who organised it all so well. I&#39;m so glad I decided to make the night-time treasure hunt inside! Thank you so much to all the parents who helped organise and run the session and a special thanks to Craig who&nbsp;battled through the rain to keep the fire going! His efforts paid off because by 7.30 the rain stopped and everyone got the chance to roast a marshmallow.</p> <p>A wonderful evening made possible by our PTA and wonderful parents.</p> <p>Joint winners of the treasure hunt were Stanley, Nathan and Courtney and Maisie. I had a good look through the books available and I have to say that whoever chose the children&#39;s section did a good job. The library is open during daylight hours, has heating, tea and coffee freely available and it&#39;s very easy to take books out. The weather was lovely and we managed to plants hundreds.
